Compass Tests Children's Watches

At the request of the Swiss consumer magazine K-Tipp, Compass Security examined children's smartwatches for communication security vulnerabilities.

 

Smartwatches for children function like small cell phones. They enable phone calls, text messages, and video calls. Thanks to the GPS feature, parents can track their child's location at any time via their cell phone. K-Tipp asked us to examine such watches for security gaps in communication. Of the eleven smartwatches tested, eight failed in terms of security.
