Beer-Talk: Responding to Cyber Attacks
The online Beer-Talk (in German) is divided in a technical presentation of about 60 minutes followed by Q&A with the chat option. The participation is free.
Topic
We will show you important aspects in the fight against malware and give you a live example of what happens when ransomware is executed. You will also gain insight into incident analysis and the creation of Indicators of Compromise (IoCs).
The talk will highlight the limitations of sandboxes and provide tips around malware analysis and effective incident blocking (containment). Finally, you will be given a few tangible measures to take away.
Speaker
Cyrill Brunschwiler has been in the security scene for over 20 years and has encountered a variety of technologies and security problems. He has provided many different hacking challenges and training material for the Hacking-Lab platform in the early days. Since 2005, he has supported over a hundred projects with independent expertise in penetration testing, security reviews and digital forensics.
In 2011, he took over the management of the Swiss analyst team and was appointed Managing Director of Compass Security Switzerland AG in 2014. Cyrill holds an MSc in Information Security from the renowned Royal Holloway University of London.
